Honest Pricing

Priced by the Inch, Quoted in Writing

Spray foam is priced by the board foot: one square foot, one inch thick. That makes the cheapest bid easy to spot. It's almost always thinner foam, the wrong foam for the spot, or a quote that leaves out the ignition or thermal barrier your space needs.

We're not the cheapest, and we're not trying to be. Your written quote lists every area, the foam type, the thickness and the R-value, and we check depth as we spray. The number we quote is the number you pay.

How to Choose a Spray Foam Installer

Most bad spray foam jobs go wrong for the same few reasons. Here’s what to check before you hand anyone a deposit:

1

Ask which foam, and why

Open-cell and closed-cell do different jobs. A good installer tells you which goes where and why, instead of quoting one foam for the whole house.

2

Get thickness in writing

A quote should list the foam type and the thickness for each area. A low price with no thickness listed usually means thin foam.

3

Ask what happens to your ducts and AC

In a Southern home the ducts usually run through the attic. Sealing the attic changes how the system works, so ask whether the installer understands HVAC.

4

Ask about ignition and thermal barriers

Foam in attics, crawl spaces and living areas may need a protective coating or covering, depending on how the space is used. A pro knows the local requirements.

5

Fix water problems first

Foam isn't a fix for a leaking roof or standing water in a crawl space. A good installer checks for moisture and tells you if something needs repair before spraying.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does spray foam insulation cost?
It depends on the area, the foam type and the thickness each spot needs, so we don't quote prices over the phone. We come out, measure, and give you a free written quote with every area spelled out.
Open-cell or closed-cell: what's the difference?
Open-cell foam is lighter and softer, about R-3.5 to R-3.8 per inch. It air-seals, absorbs sound and costs less, which makes it great for attics and interior walls. Closed-cell foam is dense and rigid, about R-6 to R-7 per inch, resists moisture and acts as a vapor retarder at 1.5 to 2 inches, which makes it the choice for crawl spaces, raised floors and metal buildings.
Is spray foam worth it compared to fiberglass?
For most homes, yes, especially in attics and crawl spaces. Fiberglass slows heat moving through it, but air leaks right through fiberglass, and in a humid climate that leaking air also carries moisture. Spray foam stops the air too. ENERGY STAR estimates an average 15% savings on heating and cooling from air sealing and adding insulation.
Why seal the attic instead of insulating the attic floor?
In most South Mississippi homes the ductwork and air handler are in the attic. Insulating the floor leaves them sitting in 130-degree air. Spraying foam under the roof deck brings the attic, and the ducts, inside the cooled envelope.
How long does installation take?
Most attic, crawl space and small shop jobs are sprayed in a single day. Larger homes, new builds and commercial buildings can take longer.
Do I need to leave the house?
Yes. Everyone, including pets, should be out while we spray and for about 24 hours afterward while the foam cures and the space ventilates. We'll give you a specific time to return.
Is spray foam safe once it's cured?
Yes. Once it's fully cured and the space has been ventilated, spray foam is inert. The precautions are for the application and curing period, which is why we seal off the area and ask you to stay out.
Will spray foam lower my power bill?
In most homes, yes. How much depends on how leaky the house is now and where the ducts are. Homes with hot attics, ducts in the attic and uncomfortable rooms usually see the biggest difference.
Can you spray foam in an existing home?
Yes. Attics, crawl spaces and raised floors are easy to reach in an existing home. Closed walls are harder and usually aren't worth opening just for foam; we'll tell you honestly where it pays off.
Does spray foam stop condensation in a metal building?
Yes. Closed-cell foam sprayed directly onto the steel keeps humid air from reaching the cooler metal, which is what causes the dripping. It's the standard fix for sweating metal buildings.
Do you remove old insulation first?
When it's needed. If old insulation in the attic or crawl space is wet, moldy, sagging or damaged by pests, we'll recommend removing it before we spray.
Does spray foam need a covering or coating?
Sometimes. Depending on how a space is used, building codes may require an ignition barrier or thermal barrier over the foam, especially in attics, crawl spaces and living areas. We check what applies and include it in the quote.
Do you do commercial jobs?
Yes. We insulate warehouses, shops, churches, offices, restaurants and commercial metal buildings, both new construction and existing buildings.
Do you clean air ducts too?
Yes. We clean air ducts and dryer vents for homes and businesses, with before-and-after photos from inside the ducts. It pairs well with sealing an attic, since the ducts are often the dirtiest part of the system.
